About Me

**UPDATE!!**

As of 5/21/10, I was the newest Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in Minneapolis! Getting this website up and running was the first step about a year and a half ago. Getting my certification was a HUGE step. What’s next? I can’t tell you. It’s a secret. ;) ****

What’s up peoples? My name is Dave Sandel, and this is my blog…if you couldn’t tell. I am currently an Electrical Engineer (Enginerd as I like to say) in Minneapolis, MN. If you’ve done some reading on this site before, you can probably tell I’m not your typical engineer. My personality doesn’t fit and my passion most certainly doesn’t fit.

So, what is my passion? My passion is athletic development. Yes, I like to make people stronger, leaner, and healthier too, but in my eyes, there’s nothing greater than one day being able to say, “I trained that kid all the way from high school to the pros.” So, I’m putting my 14 years under the bar and 10 years on the playing field to good use.

Even to this day, I love everything about football: the brotherhood, the intensity, the violence, the determiniation, the raw emotion, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g!! So, since I can’t be an athlete anymore, I might as well train them and engulf myself in that environment.

This blog will follow me from desk jockey to gym owner somewhere in the great city of Minneapolis. And not just any gym owner. There is a movement across the U.S. right now in the fitness industry called the Underground Strength Gym or Warehouse Gym. These gyms combine old school strength with new school methods. They’re hot, they’re dirty, they stink, it’s loud, and it is glorious. They use medicine balls, tractor tires, ropes, chains, and logs. The best part about them, they are intense! No chit chat, no Britney Spears, no bullshit.
