Seems like the only stuff I’ve been posting lately are updates. Like, as if people actually care what’s going on in my life. Hahaha. Right. I’m not that interesting. Hopefully the days of only posting life updates regularly are behind us. However, there’s still this one…
CSCS Exam
First of all, a gigantic THANK YOU to everyone wishing me luck on the exam! You all deserve a good, stiff leg humping. All in all, it was about a year and a half in the making. I had originally set a goal to be certified by last fall, but I’m a procrastinator, have slight ADD when it comes to balancing my life, and in general am kinda lazy.
Speaking of being lazy, I didn’t request to get my college transcript sent to NSCA headquarters until last week (so I’m sure it will take at least a week or two for it to be processed and sent through the University of Wisconsin school system), and I didn’t take my CPR certification until this past weekend either. So I have to wait for my CPR card to arrive in the mail, make a copy of that, and then send that to the NSCA as well before I get to see my test scores. Lame? Yes. But I can only blame myself. If all of the stars align, I could *possibly* get my scores by the end of this week. It’s highly doubtful though. My expectations are possibly next week some time or even the one after.
Oh! You want to know how I think I did? Well, in all honesty, I think I did well enough to pass. I don’t think I dominated, but I don’t really care if did or not. Even if I only pass by 1 question on both sections, I don’t care. Passing is passing.
For the exercise science section, I was able to answer all of the question in 40 minutes. That left me with more than enough time to go back through and look at all of them. I think I changed a couple from being wrong to being right. And even the ones that I had absolutely no clue on, I could at least get it down to choosing between 2 answers so at least it’s a 50/50 shot.
The application section was about the same. Finished it WAAAAAY ahead of time, but this time I only marked the ones I struggled with and didn’t go through all of them again. There was 120 questions on that section and I was getting bored.
I’d appreciate it if you hold off on the congratulatories until I know for sure. I try to stay pretty level headed about these things and don’t want to get my hopes up. As positive as some people like to tell me to be, being positive will not magically change a wrong answer to a write answer now.
Training
Now that I don’t have this looming feeling of, “you know, you should be studying right now. Anything you do that isn’t studying is taking away from your future” and the fact that I haven’t really even felt like training for the past several months, I can honestly say that this guy is back!! Pass or fail, happy or sad, I am f*ckin READY to get back in the gym and train like a beast!
My summer fatloss program (must be a subscriber to get the password) is going so well that it’s exposing one simple fact: I am STILL a skinny bastard. My previously muscle (and fat) wrapped and hidden collar bones are being exposed again. This does not make me a happy panda. Not one single bit.
E-book
E-book, you say?! Yup. I REARRY think that I have something that people should want to see. Of course, even if the information is rock solid and written with my straight forward bluntness mixed with geek, it’s still not going to matter if I can’t figure out how to market it and get some decent exposure. All I’ll say about it is that it’s a nutritional/dieting/how-to eat product and is based on what I’m currently doing. Of course, there are many many more details than just that. Hell, there might even be an opportunity for some of you to get the e-book for free and make some money by being a test subject. More on that when it gets closer.
Hair Growth
I’ve been told by a couple people I should cut it, I’ve been told by a couple people they really like it, and I’ve been told by one person that I absolutely should let it grow out. I am SO focused on focusing on the gym right now, that I really could give two shits what anybody else thinks about it, even if they are an attractive specimen from the opposite sex. So far it’s not bothering me, so the growth continues…
The Obligatory “Your Turn”
Whatta you got going on in your life? Anything you want the 10 people that read the comments to know about? Anything I can help you with?

Since you’re going to start training again, what’s your goal in mind? more muscle/hide the collar bones?
Yep. Still gonna shed some fat, but gain a little muslce too. Normally that’s pretty tough (or impossible), but I’m so detrained right now that I think it’ll be possible….until my training level returns to where it used to be at least.
Thanks for stopping by!
id love to learn more about the book once you get it all figured out…
also the fatloss, beefing up program…
thats basically my goal right now.. need to get in better looking shape lol.. not as much on the triathlon stuff… id otn see myself doing any “long” tris for awhile.. if ever.. im not jsut built for endurance at this point..
but anyway… so whats the theory of the colar bones? i feel like iv always had a big chest.. too big when i was fat lol but my colar bones still really stick out… more chest muscles? bigger shoulders/traps?
iv ben off my diet this past week or 2.. alot of stuff going on, getting un motivated, depressed.. what ever you wanna call it but i gotta get my shit together and show the world what i can do…
It’s all figured out. Just gotta write it and figure out how to package it.
The training program isn’t necessarily fatloss/beefing up. It’s just the fact that I’m so detrained, it should just be a byproduct of me getting off my lazy ass. Haha.
And of course, I’ll be using a biofeedback template.
@Derrick
Whoops, forgot the collar bone part. Yep, you’re exactly right. Bigger chest, delts, and traps and they should disappear.
Dave do you have a degree in engineering that enabled you to take the CSCS exam? I have my fingers crossed for you
Sadly, yes, my full-time gig is electrical engineering. Sucks, but it pays the bills.
I am currently in the third year of a nursing course, which I am not keen on. I will hopefully get accepted onto a Sport Science degree straight afterwards and then complete my CSCS…. That is the plan anyway
I feel your pain on the engineering tho
[...] I eluded to in my last post, I am mos def (not the rapper) going to be writing a nutritional/dieting/how-to eat e-book. [...]
