Lots of Updates and a Wicked Sweet Free Offer

Website Updates

These have been few and far between since the Biofeedback DVD release party. I’ve got 3 or 4 posts that I REALLY want to write, but haven’t been able to bring myself to do it. There’s a multi-part series on running (which will feature a guest writer), a huge revamp to nutrition “theory”, and how I maintain a balanced lifestyle. There are 2 posts that I didn’t notify via email though. Be sure to go back and check them out. And there’s also this….

Weightloss Updates

The quick update is that I’m down 8lb. in 5 weeks. It’s not really that impressive until you learn that I STILL haven’t been going to the gym more than twice a week or that I’ve made good on my commitment to cardio. In fact, the only thing I’ve done differently is the nutrition stuff I mentioned above (including Intermittent Fasting). Ok, I’m slightly more active due to the somewhat warmer weather but nothing worth mentioning. S’rsly. Oh! And I had somewhat of a freak out this morning. I woke up 5 (FIVE) pounds heavier than yesterday. I almost went emo on myself, and then I realized I had a GIGANTO bowl of “cabbage soup” last night, filled with TONS of sodium and MSG. So, as the dudes at EliteFTS say, “I got my bloat on.” Albeit, inadvertently. I suspect that extra water weight will be gone in the next day or so. No worries.

Training Updates

I’m still using biofeedback and am still impressed with what I’ve been able to do with it. It’s been several weeks (maybe even a month) since I shot that bench press video where I did 10 singles of 250lb. Since then, I’ve done sets of 5 and sets of 2-3. Then, just as a point of reference, last week I did sets of singles again. I was able to get 255lb. for 9 singles. I know, I know, nothing impressive, right? Again, I’ve lost 8lb. since then, and I’ve only trained bench press 3 times. At my current experience level, I’ll take that 5lb. gain.

Other lifts since then: Remember my horrendous powerlifting meet experience when I got hurt squatting 370lb.? Well, a couple weeks ago, back squat tested nicely. So nice that intensity was the chosen modality. It was my first time doing heavy squats since the injury and the first time squatting at all in several months. **PLEASE NOTE: I would not suggest doing heavy singles the first time back to beginners or anyone with less than at least a bazillion high quality squats under their belt.** I managed to set an all-time 1RM PR by 15lb. My previous 1RM was 325lb. and I got 340lb. for two singles.

Then, just this past weekend, I made vertical pulling my priority. I normally do it as my 2nd or 3rd accessory lift and struggle to get 3 sets of 6-8 reps (depending on the variation) just with my bodyweight. But I wanted to see what I could do with it as my primary movement. So, after testing several things, close-grip chinups (inside shoulder width) was the winner. I managed to get 40 reps with a 20lb. chain around my neck in 28 minutes. That was pretty neat.

Life Updates

I’m still accepting applications for the position of girlfriend. Ha! Kidding. Well, kind of. I am still single, but I’m not using this as an advertisement. I’m just sayin. But really, the only thing going on in my life is that I get one step closer to old ballz next week, and I’ve decided (over a month ago) to grow my hair out. How long? I have no idea. Probably just until I can’t stand it anymore. My goal is to have sweet A.J. Hawk and Clay Mathews Hair. Ha!! I know me, and that will never happen.

Also, this stuff greatly affects my life….

Business Updates

I was lying in bed this past Sunday night and realized that my test was only 19 days away (now 17). I’ve set a goal to study a minimum of 2 hours a night every night with the hopes that it’s actually more like 3 – 4. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s wasting money. So failing this test would be a huge waste. (It’s also the reason there hasn’t/won’t be too many site updates.) Also, in a sense of business updates….
