Keeping in the spirit of my previous recipe posts, I’ll keep this rather short and to the point….something you never want to hear in the bedroom.
It was a Sunday, and I needed something to eat that was going to last me for the entire week. It wasn’t just any ‘ol Sunday though. It was Vikings vs. Packers II. Anyone that really knows me knows that I am a diehard Packers fan (well, up until yesterday when they lost to the lowly Tampa Bay Bucaneers). So, combining all those factors, led me to the only possible choice.
What is a fall comfort food, healthy, and eaten during football season? Chili.
I’ve never actually made chili myself before and figured I’d throw caution to the wind. I mean, I’m a good enough cook, it’s not like it was going to kill me even if it wasn’t the world’s greatest shit in a bowl, ya know?
So, for this, you will need:
1 lb. of ground burger or cubed steak
1 lb. of turkey bacon (or regular if you’re not a health nut)
Onions
Celery
Mushrooms
Beans of your choice (probably not baked, gross)
Stewed tomatoes
Tomato juice
Jalapeno Peppers
Cumin
Paprika
Cayenne Pepper
Chili Powder
Step 1: Cook the meat in a BFP (Big Fuggin’ Pot – from last time)
Step 1a: Drain the fat if you want to
Step 2: Add the veggies and let them “sweat” (that’s a cooking term; for realz, I promise)
Step 3: Season the shit out of them with the dried shit
Step 4: Add stewed tomatoes and beans
Step 4a: Add enough tomato juice for your desired consistency
Step 5: Simmer that shit and let the flavors blend together
I highly recommend serving it with freshly chopped onions and colby cheese.
I highly recommend you NOT doing some stupid shit like boiling macaroni noodles and throwing them in there. That will will earn you an ass kicking from the chili people I hang out with.
Lastly, the changes I made that are not shown in the video: I added the second can of stewed tomatoes and a shit ton more of the dried spices. Remember, season everything to taste. Don’t worry about exact quantities.
Enjoy…

That is what I am talking about. I love chili and it is my main staple for food. Cause it is so freaking cheap and simple. However, I have never tried it with bacon, I am looking forward to giving this a try tomorrow.
Let me know how it turns out. I really wanted to use “real” bacon, but since this is a “health and fitness” type blog, I figured I should probably leave it out. lol
chili is the bomb… pretty good for you too… legumes are good, tomato sauce (tomatoes) are good for prostate…
i like putting a little on top of my plain kinda gross egg whites and helps alot lol
